I have a dream of the churches in our community doing what is happening in the Kansas City area, which you can read about at What If the Church.
If you talked to the pastors in our community and asked them this one question, "What is the central belief of your church?" I believe you would get this answer: "Jesus is the savior of the world."
What if the church set aside the differences we have in the things apart from Jesus like our different methods of worship and focused on working together in our community. In our community there are alcoholics, drug addicts, men and women addicted to pornography, men and women who have wounds from being abused, and families that are hurting from the things that happen in life. Imagine what could happen if the body worked together using the gifts God has given to it for healing the broken hearted, to comfort the hurting, and to minister side by side.
I am not associated with an church in our community but I have a desire to see the churches in our community touch the lives of those who are blind and deaf to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that many in our community are already doing that but what if... What if people went to an event where every one of our community churches were working together to improve the lives of those who are hurting. What if... What if people saw the body functioning together as Paul talked about in Corinthians? Imagine the impact the church would have in the name of our Creator God.
Come back for more information about this idea as the weeks unfold about "Family and Faith Day".
